In this role you will be responsible for overseeing a group of related projects within the organization to ensure they work together and align with the overall goals of the business unit. Coordinates the operation of adjacent departments, their projects and their overlap(s).

What you'll be doing:
- Works to support and drive the product development and market introduction process as well as participating/initiating phase gate processes and meetings
- Assists Product Managers and Associate Product Managers in preparation and performance of their roles
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the product categories understandings their use and application(s) as well as market needs (ie. positioning, price point, ongoing trends, etc.)
- Works directly and daily with Product Managers, and other members of YMUS and/or YMC as necessary or requested in performance of these duties
- Creates, inputs, and maintains product information in the Product Information Management System (PIMS) ensuring all data is accurate and up to date
- Produces draft forms of product-related documents and publications
- Develop and maintain evidence-based business cases for products to seek business resources and prioritize product development
- Maintain a prioritized roadmap and lifecycle of products (including specifications and CTQs)
- Conduct market visits (boat builders, dealers, end-users, conferences, etc.) as necessary to gain useful product insights
- Works with video production department, MBU marketing division(s), and technical training departments in identifying, obtaining, creating, and sharing of product-support assets
- Takes technical courses from Yamaha and elsewhere to increase proficiency and maintain product knowledge
What you need to be successful:
- BA / BS degree or equivalent professional experience in a related position required
- Project Management (PMP) Certification preferred
- 2-5 years related experience
- Experience with preparation and/or delivery of product-based materials strongly preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, etc.), appropriate Yamaha Internal Systems (YMBS, YWMS, SAP, etc.), and experience with the InRiver, Product Information Management System (PIMS) strongly preferred.
- Travel: approximately 30%, with short periods of heavy travel (i.e. overlapping or closely scheduled survey trips, projects, meetings, boat shows, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Product use/application knowledge/technical aptitude required.
- Marine industry and/or marine dealership experience a plus.
- Strong organizational, written, presentation, and oral communication skills required. Ability to effectively communicate with multi-cultural backgrounds and/or those with varying levels of related experience and understanding required
- Must be analytical, proactive, and a self-starter
- Must be able to take initiative, excel without direct supervision, and work within a global team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
