A multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and technicians
to develop spaceflight missions, spacecraft, spacecraft avionics
systems, spacecraft payloads, and lighter than air systems. This
position has the option of being a fully remote in the following states:
AL, AZ, AR, CO, Dis. of Columbia, FL, GA, MA, MD, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NC,
OH, OK, OR, TX, UT, VA, WV only. Alternate work location is San Antonio,
TX.
Objectives of this Role:
- Manage complex space-based programs.
- Find new business opportunities in the commercial and government
arenas.
- Strategic planning for the needs of the war-fighter from a space
perspective.
- Strategic planning for the needs of the commercial sector, both
nationally and internationally, from a space perspective.
- Develop processes and procedures for training engineers and
technicians.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Track progress on projects by SwRI personnel/subcontractors,
generate reports, and manage project progress and customer's
expectations.
- Work with potential customers to develop new business opportunities.
- Strategize with members of the department to determine how SwRI can
meet the needs of the war-fighter and the commercial sector.
- Work with and lead Division personnel to develop processes and
procedures for training.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors or a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science &
Software Engineering and/or Engineering Management.
- 15+ years: Related Management experience; Strategic planning for the
needs of the commercial sector, both nationally and internationally,
from a space perspective or directly related.
- Experience working with potential customers to develop new business
opportunities.
- Strong problem solving and strategic planning skills, experience
with the needs of the war-fighter from a space perspective, working
in an internationally cooperative environment, and practical
knowledge in organizational development, facilities management,
resource training.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
- Salary Range: $144,498-240,885

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security
investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
