Bergman KPRS LLC is a growing National General Contractor/Project Management firm that specializes in Commercial Construction for various commercial construction retail ground-up, and tenant improvement projects.
At this time we are seeking an "experienced" & "local (Seattle Washington)" CONSTRUCTION Sr. Project Engineer/Assistant PM as an integral member of our project team that will be responsible for assisting us in delivering our retail projects that vary in size and complexity. The Project Engineer will play a "technical role" in tandem with operational functions and will be responsible for organizing and controlling project activities under the direction of the Project Manager and will be required to be ON SITE. Only apply if you have "Commercial RETAIL experience", have proven experience working in a multi-trade environment and "currently" reside in the Seattle WA area.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements
- Assist the Director/PM in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules
- Prepare project organization and communication charts
- Chair site meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
- Track the progress and quality of work being performed by disciplines/trades
- Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
- Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
- Track field inspection reports throughout the lifecycle of the project ·
- Assist the PM in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval
- Track & manage contemplated change notices and change orders
- Issue Contract Requests, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders & Subcontractor Change Orders.
- Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others
- Keep the Director and other Team Members informed about project status and issues that may impact the schedule and/or client relations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Seeking Candidate with "actual construction background".
- Must be able to read and interpret plans as well as perform take-offs
- Experience in the Construction Field and/or Project/Construction Management a must
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Project Management in the delivery of projects
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Project and/or ProCore and the MS Office Suite of products
- Familiarity with construction methods and the building codes
- Strong sense of presence -
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Ability to work must not be predicated on a work Visa
- Must be able to prove Southern California residency
