Position/Title: Power BI Developer
Emp. Status: Contract
Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite 1-2 days per week)

About the Role

Our company is seeking a skilled and experienced Power BI Developer to join our team for a specific project in Q3. The primary focus will be on editing Power Queries, updating existing report UIs, and working through a backlog of similar tasks.

This role involves collaborating with a small team of Power BI developers and interacting with our data warehouse, Snowflake, for querying purposes. If you are ready to learn, collaborate, provide solutions, and operate a born-in-the-cloud architecture to deliver the data and reporting foundation for an $8 billion revenue company, then you are the right addition to the team.Working within our Scaled Agile Framework, you will be responsible for the design, development, quality, delivery, support, and adoption of strategic analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business stakeholders’ needs.
• Gather and understand business requirements for data visualization and analysis.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes.
• Create complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis.
• Ensure data security and compliance with best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Power BI reports.
• Provide training and support to end users on using Power BI.
• Keep up to date with the latest Power BI features and trends.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts.
• Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations.
• Familiarity with data warehouse concepts, particularly Snowflake.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently on a specific project while collaborating with a small team.
• Adaptability to changing business requirements.
• A problem solver who can fill in the gaps of requirements using common sense and understanding the end user's needs.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI development.
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, MS SQL Server, AWS RedShift, AWS Snowflake.
• Experience with Data Modeling and ETL processes.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, or relevant fields.
• Power BI certifications are a plus.
