Position Summary
The Sr. RF Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new products as well as engineering support for existing products. This individual performs product design and works as a team member with R&E, Marketing, and Manufacturing for new products while complying with project schedules and budgets.
Key Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in design & optimization of RF circuits and structures including antennas, transmission lines, filters, impedance matching networks, couplers, power splitters and combiners, phase shifters, amplifiers, receivers, and transmitters, with focus on frequency range of 400MHz to 4 GHz preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Ansys HFSS as well as circuit simulation tools.
- Ability to plan and conduct controlled tests to evaluate design parameters.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to direct research and conduct data analysis as necessary to resolve issues.
- Flexibility to consider and attempt alternate solutions as necessary to resolve problems and seamlessly adjust in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent documentation practices and technical writing skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills for providing design review presentations to other subject matter experts as well as less technical decision makers.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence decision making and work effectively in cross functional teams comprised of manufacturing, quality, marketing, and purchasing representatives as well as other engineering disciplines.
- Leadership skills necessary to mentor other engineers, technicians, and co-ops.
- Commitment to excellence that reflects company values, accepting responsibility and making quality decisions.
- Commitment to maintaining project schedules and delivering tasks on time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High degree of creativity necessary to innovate and develop novel solutions.
- Superior organizational time management, prioritization, and project planning skills.
- Experience with developing and supporting products for high volume production.
- Experience with agency certifications such FCC, Industry Canada, and cellular carrier certifications.
- Engineering lead and/or project management experience.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Wireless Engineering. Master’s Degree a plus.
Experience:
- 7 years minimum in Engineering product design and development.
