About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with experience in platelet biology to join our Cardiovascular and Renal research team. In this role, you will be dedicated to efforts that identify, characterize mechanism(s), and validate platelet targets for the purpose of advising and developing therapeutic strategies in thrombosis. You will work with a team of in vitro and in vivo scientists proficient in numerous assays and models applied in the pre-clinical thrombosis and hemostasis research field to support and add to a pipeline of platelet targets in thrombosis.
As a Senior Scientist, a typical day to day might include:
Understanding of platelet biology, including role and mechanism(s) in underlying thrombosis,
Designing and execution of in vitro studies isolating and evaluating platelets for activity and aggregation.
Conducting in vivo platelet-mediated thrombosis models.
Maintaining awareness about current and emerging anti-platelet therapeutics.
Proposing, validating and screening potential platelet targets for therapeutic development in thrombosis.
Functioning as the lead for old and newly nominated platelet target programs.
Contributing scientifically to target-specific or working group meetings, sub-group meetings and departmental meetings.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Ph.D. with training in platelet thrombosis field with 0-5+ years of relevant post-doctoral or industry experience. Must have extensive experience with platelet activation and aggregation assays. Must have experience conducting platelet thrombosis studies in small animals (mice).

$106,200.00 - $173,200.00
