Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer (JavaScript/NodeJS/SQL/PostgreSQL)
McLean, VA (onsite 2-3 days/week)
Full-Time, Permanent

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on backend development and system integration. This individual will play a critical role in designing, coding, and testing software solutions that support dynamic and innovative learning environments. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality results promptly and contribute fresh ideas to enhance ongoing and future projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and test robust software solutions tailored for educational systems.
• Create and manage RESTful web services utilizing NodeJS.
• Design data models for relational and document-oriented databases.
• Implement and optimize application environments withAmazon Web Services (AWS).
• Apply best practices for source code management, branching, and merging strategies using Git.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical and application issues.
• Provide thorough analysis and support during production and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and product owners.
• Contribute to user interface design to ensure cohesive end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
  • 10+ years in software engineering, with significant hands-on experience in backend development.
  • 5+ years working with NodeJS.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, Java, or other object-oriented/prototype-based languages.
  • Strong background in SQL and proficiency with relational databases.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB (preferred).
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, and Redshift.
  • Strong understanding of version control using Git.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Exposure to message queue technologies and software design patterns.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• A proactive approach with minimal supervision required.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and performance under pressure.
