Sr. Staff Accountant at Vaco, LLC

Responsibilities:

Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales and use tax filings for multiple states, and generate yearly informational reports related to multi-state income taxes
Strong research and analytical skills in state tax laws and business registration requirements are essential.
Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, analyze variances, and suggest adjustments
Handle monthly closing entries, expense allocations, and year-end audit schedules.
Review and record fixed assets, prepare multi-state tangible property tax returns, and maintain lease files
Prepare year-end schedules for financial audits.
Review bi-weekly payroll for accuracy and support the HR Department with payroll processing and accounting needs.

Additional Responsibilities:

Identify, research, and propose solutions for process improvements.
Provide support for service centers through various monthly reports.
Assist in preparing year-end audit schedules for financial audits.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on sales tax, payroll, and account reconciliations.
Experience at a Big Four or regional accounting firm preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards, with the ability to analyze data and apply these principles accurately.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and contribute as a team player.
