The Sr Strategic Sourcing Buyer plays a crucial role in our organization, responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services for construction projects. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the construction industry. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in vendor management within the construction industry.

Key Objectives:

• Optimize procurement processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to construction sites.
• Collaborate with project teams to anticipate and meet procurement needs.
• Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about market trends and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for construction projects.
• Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Evaluate bids and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Create and maintain a database of qualified suppliers and contractors.
• Monitor market conditions and analyze price trends for construction materials.
• Coordinate with project managers to determine material and service requirements.
• Manage the procurement schedule to align with project timelines.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
• Resolve issues related to product quality, delivery delays, or contract disputes.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
• Participate in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist in developing and managing procurement budgets.
• Coordinate logistics and deliveries with suppliers and construction sites.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers and contractors.
• Collaborate with accounting department to process invoices and payments.
• Other job duties as assigned

Education & Experience required:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and cost savings.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Salary Guidelines: $65,000-$80,000/yr (DOE)
