Job Summary:
High-performance Product team in Supermicro is seeking talented Senior System Product Engineer who can lead the technical collateral development of in-house server system products. This individual will have the opportunity to define and implement latest data center and server technologies, and to create proof of concepts and technical feature paper presentations to differentiate Supermicro product through online and at various industry events. This individual will also be the go-to person for product managers and system engineers to be the subject of matter expert in application benchmarks specifically in network, database, and virtualization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Diagnose the root cause of system failures and isolate the components/failure nodes
• Respond to as-needed basis to emergencies and provide remedy for catastrophic failure events
• Develop and publish test reports and communicate findings to team members
• Basic scripting skills for automating validation tests
• Work together with Supermicro Sales teams, Field Engineers, Product Managers to understand and formulate product requirements
• Work with cross-functional teams, including, Engineering, Component Managers, Sales and IT team on assigned projects
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering with 8 years of hands-on experience in server/computer architecture environment; Master's degree is a plus
• Understanding of GPU technology and industry offering such as Nvidia Tesla, and AMD GPUs is desirable
• Familiar with the server and/or storage system architecture
• Familiar with Windows Server and Linux operating systems
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal
• Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment
• Demonstrate understanding or how to successfully work in cross-functional organizations
• Familiar with Windows Server and Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu and Redhat
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.
Salary Range
$140,000 - $158,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
