Sr Systems Engineer
This position has the following essential responsibilities:
· Manage the Systems Engineering Lifecycle for IMA and Federated computing products/technologies.
· Develop and execute systems development and verification plans in accordance with GE Aviation processes.
· Assist Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Business Leaders in new pursuits.
· Develop architecture and trade studies as needed to comply with customer requirements.
· Cross train Systems Engineers in the systems engineering process.
· Drive and support engineering reuse within the Computing Systems product line.
· Provide technical leadership and guidance to the teams running projects within the product line. This includes supporting project planning, conducting reviews, metrics development/tracking, forecasting, development processes, and risk and opportunity management.
· Ensure timely delivery of systems requirements, integrated validation/verification activities, and issue resolution.
· Support the startup of new projects to insure they are well planned in accordance with the product roadmap, the overall product line strategy and engineering process requirements.
· Lead/manage interdisciplinary collaboration with software, hardware, test, safety, maintainability, reliability and certification teams.
· Escalate issues that need additional engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner.
· Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
· Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
· Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
· Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
· Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
· May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
· Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
