Our IT team is growing! We are adding a Sr. Systems Engineer for Merger and Acquisition integrations to our IT team. This position can be worked remotely with occasional travel to sites as needed.
The M&A Integrations Sr. Systems Engineer will support infrastructure implementation, environment organization, and service on information systems being integrated into the existing corporate environment from mergers and acquisitions. IT Integration activities will include the buildout of VMware environments, migration of customer-facing business applications, Active Directory, Exchange Migrations, and Intranet application access permissions, etc., ensuring the safe transfer, secure storage and archival of all company data, and assisting the Support team with service escalations with the highest level of support.

Responsibilities:The job will include:
- Managing, administering, and proposing design improvements, making recommendations and implementations to achieve best practices.
- Acting as a senior point of escalation, technical adviser, and mentor for other systems engineers.
- Creating, deploying, and administering new VM server and workstations.
- Collaborating with network staff to find solutions to complex networking and integration issues.
- Interacting with internal clients to resolve issues; communicating with external clients in a professional manner maintaining discretion.
- Designing, implementing, and administering system integration processes and procedures.
- Maintaining Systems documentation.
- Monitoring and maintaining all remote / branch office server performance and perform capacity planning.
- Providing support to Network, Telecom and Support teams during system integrations.
- Assisting with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
- Assisting with the selection, presentation, and purchase of software, and other IT solutions.
Requirements:
Critical:
- Deep understanding of all aspects of administering and maintaining corporate networking and systems infrastructure, including MPLS, VPN, network connectivity, Internet access, exchange, servers, etc
- Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify, and isolate technical issues.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience administering virtualized server environments using VMware
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
- Proficiency and experience administering and migrating data, servers, and systems.
- Monitoring the environment for interface related issues and assist in diagnosing system integration issues
Need to be:
- Proficient with backup and restore technologies, Veeam is a plus
- Able to maintain a global Active Directory including sites and services, domain replication, group policy, and domain trusts.
- Proficient in PowerShell for the creation and administration of automation scripts.
- Proficient in Exchange, Exchange Online, Office 365, SharePoint, and Azure
- Maintaining a hybrid on-premise / O365 environment
- Willing to take ownership of the issue analysis and resolution efforts and commit to "doing what it takes" to resolve technical issues regardless of the effort or timeframe required.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to produce excellent documentation
Familiarity with:
- Understanding the implementing and maintaining of Firewalls, Cisco preferred
- Understanding switching and routing protocols such as BGP, Access Control Lists, route redistribution, and path selection
- Understanding of IPSEC VPN technology from multiple vendors, experience with Cisco Meraki VPN a plus
- Systems communication protocols such as NetBios, DNS, DHCP
- Wireless Access Points and wireless security protocols such as Cisco Meraki EAP
- Possess working knowledge of cybersecurity and endpoint protection solutions
- Agile project management and operational practices
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ work experience as a Systems Engineer.
- Core Infrastructure - Windows Server, Linux, Advanced Active directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Performance tuning, patching, Backup and DR.
- Understanding of and experience with VMware, SANs, Veeam, and Blade Chassis.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Exchange/Exchange Online architecture, services, and support.
- Practical understanding of networking - routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, IP and VLANs.
- Must have experience using monitoring software such as SolarWinds to collect and manage events and system status.
- Must have strong communication skills and ability to work individually, within a team, with other groups and with customers.
- Must have ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.
