JOB SUMMARY:
The senior systems engineer will have a broad (networking, cybersecurity, automation, implementation, monitoring, governance) and evolving (Azure, M365, AI, containers) skillset in engineering world-class technical and business solutions. The senior system engineer will have the heart of a teacher and act as a technical expert helping to mentor amazing colleagues and help to raise the bar on knowledge, execution and delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead design, operation, monitoring, alerting, reporting and remediation of networks in HQ-Phoenix, and 30 to 50 jobsites across multiple states, especially AZ and UT.
- Upskill existing staff on network and network remediation.
- Work with leadership and team to design, manage, operate and remediate a secure working environment: network, endpoints, email, Azure . . .
- Contribute to and assist in IT risk management program.
- Use PowerShell to automate administrative tasks. Use Terraform to deploy containers to Azure.
- Lead IT projects such as: MDM redesign and deployment, M365 backups, Intune, end point protection replacement, migration to cloud VoIP system, email filter replacement, desktop services replacement, job site network coverage, SSO, identify management . . .
- Work with leadership to expand and formalize IT governance.
- Build and expand on a library of Standard Operating Procedures to deliver consistent, quality results in all aspects of the services delivered.
- Gather input on process improvement ideas or areas where additional training is needed; train staff in real time.
- Develop training material including quick reference training videos, manuals, etc.
- Monitor technology trends and recommend future enhancements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of experience with hands-on network design and trouble-shooting, information security risks and remediation.
- Automation tools including PowerShell and Terraform.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with staff, team members, vendors and Company leadership.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT architecture, systems and functions.
- High moral and ethical values.
