Software Resources has an immediate, job opportunity for a Sr. Technical Program Manager – Media & Metadata with a major corporation in Santa Monica, CA. On Site-hybrid Tues/Wed in Santa Monica.
Pay Rate: $80 - $86/hr DOE
12+ month contract with potential to extend.
Must Haves:
1. Scrum/TPM experience- will lead at least 1 scrum team w/stand ups etc. As TPM, will also be responsible for project on the PM side
2. Ideal candidate will have come from a software development background and if in past was a developer turned TPM that is ideal
3. Live TV experience is a super +++, team deals with Streaming live events
4. Having worked on ingestion or scheduling into systems from different partners
5. Experience building operational tools
6. Digital Supply Chain experience
The Sr. Technical Program Manager will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver technical projects within scope, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively manage project resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations. The Sr. Technical Program Manager will be focused on driving the deliverable for Media and Metadata Tooling group within Media Engineering organization while working with various stakeholders within the organization.
Project Planning and Scheduling:
• Develop project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources required.
• Create and maintain project schedules using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
• Identify project dependencies and critical path activities to ensure timely delivery.
Resource Management:
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Coordinate with functional managers to ensure availability of required resources (human, financial, and technical).
• Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize project performance.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
• Proactively manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Implement contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.
Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage expectations by effectively communicating project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Quality Assurance:
• Define and implement quality standards for project deliverables.
• Conduct regular quality reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience managing technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and best practices
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management roles.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in software development, IT infrastructure, or related technical fields is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in building content management systems is preferred.
• Have experience in writing HTML code or deep understanding of HTML.
• Have experience in creating API services or have an understanding of APIs: URI, response etc.
• Have a deep knowledge of XML and JSON formats.
• Knowledge of network calls and how it affects performance of the page.
• Experience in writing technical documentation.
Education:
BS STEM or related + 10+ yrs experience
