About the Job
The Sr. Technology Architect develops, implements, and maintains the overall infrastructure architecture strategy that aligns with the organization’s current and future goals. The position is responsible for ensuring infrastructure design is scalable, reliable, cost-effective and secure including networks, servers, storage and other critical components. The Sr. Technology Architect evaluates and recommends new technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure capabilities and efficiency, as well as monitors the performance of the environment to make recommendations for improvements. The position works with the head of IT security to develop best practices for data protection, maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization's infrastructure can recover from disruptions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and build the infrastructure systems to support the whole company
- Serves as a resource for the InfraOps team, solicit continuous feedback, and incorporate feedback into the designs of the infrastructure
- Recommend configuration, installation best practices to maintain complex multi-site TCP/IP and VoIP networks, including LAN/WAN, Wireless, ISP, Data Center, and Network Security technologies in line with business architectural needs and industry best practices
- Configures complex multi-site server infrastructure, including SAN, Storage Array, Server and Application Load Balancing, Clustering, Virtualization, Hybrid Cloud, Backup/Recovery, Security
- Designs and tests infrastructure Disaster Recovery topology and protocols for Tier I critical business components
- Documents and maintains network and infrastructure physical and logical diagrams
- Serves as last line of defense for infrastructure-related issues
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with business lines and vendor partners
- Develops and recommends new or updated technologies and procedures to ensure streamlined, secure, and scalable systems
- Provides on call support as needed
- Lead by example and demonstrate high performance in the areas of customer service, communication, collaboration, teamwork, reliability, productivity, and execution

- Must be able to lift heavy objects such as server, routers, and switches
- Extensive experience in at least one Infrastructure Technology (e.g., Network, Security, Compute, Storage, Backup, Database, etc.) is required:
- Microsoft Active Directory and Domain Services
- VMware and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
- Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Familiarity with High Availability Configurations
- Network Design and Analysis
- Telecom Design and Implementation
- Data Center Architecture and Build-out
- Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an information technology field (e.g., Computer/Management Information Systems (MIS/CIS), Computer Science (CS), Electrical/Computer Engineering (EE/CE), or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience required
- 12 or more years of relevant and progressive experience directly related to data center operations (On-Prem and Cloud) and infrastructure services included but not limited to network and server architecture implementation and management across LAN/WAN, Wireless, ISP, Data Center, SAN, Load Balancing, Clustering, Virtualization, Hybrid Cloud, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery technologies required
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
- Professional technical certifications preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
