Sr. Test Technician - Rochester Hills, MI
Our client is seeking a Sr. Test Technician who is comfortable adapting to change and brings an innovative, creative mind set. The Test Technician will be working with new components developed for the thermal management of battery systems as well as components developed for internal combustion engines. This individual will conduct testing, mill work and support for the US team and will report directly to the Test Lab Manage.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Setup test and experiment as requested by the test engineer or test lab manager.
* Review fixture design, write the program and then carry out the necessary milling/turning work.
* Review materials needed to complete job and order the necessary materials
* Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the equipment used for testing through validation and calibration.
* Have knowledgeable understanding of test equipment used for testing
* Fabricate using the shops CNC mill, lathe and other fabrication shop tools such as band saw, torque device and vertical drill press.
* Help other lab personnel to maintain an efficient and professional environment in the laboratory.
* Be a contributing member to the engineering team working towards definition, measurement and improvement of its processes.
* Assist in presentation of testing to the customer or supplier when required.
* Travel to customer to test when required (USA)
* Work with vendors as required to contact complex fabrication of fixturing
* Write requisitions to acquire needed resources to complete all tasks above.
* Utilize the test report database (Teamcenter) to access test reports, assignments, targets and approvals.
* Communicate with lab team members, product engineering, program management and laboratory management.
