The Amazon Device and Services Design Group (DDG) is a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for the CX and UX across the Echo family of devices, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Alexa Mobile and more. DDG's mission is to conceptualize and bring to life delightful, easy-to-use, and high value experiences for our customers.
Our design studio is looking for an exceptional Sr. Visual UX Designer to join our Expression Design team. The Expressions Design team elevates our digital experiences by activating all senses including sound, visuals, motion, touch, and haptics; and is driven to improve inclusion and create a meaningful, emotional connection between customers and our products.
Key job responsibilities
You will be hands on, working alongside a talented team of like-minded visual designers, and have a strong understanding of visual systems and best practices, including layout, color palette, typography, iconography and illustrations. You are at ease visualizing an experience in the abstract, building consensus, and then driving that vision into concise design deliverables. As a tastemaker and visual storyteller, you will advocate for design excellence and help create meaningful, emotional connection between customers and our products.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scale and complexity
- Experience with Hands on Visual Design
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- A well-crafted portfolio that demonstrates experience creating innovative visual design solutions
- Demonstrates experience crafting design concepts that inform the future vision for a digital product
- Experience art directing motion designers, illustrators, writers and content creators
- Experience partnering with technical partners for design implementation
- High proficiency in design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch) and prototyping tools such as InVision, Figma or Principle
- Ability to navigate ambiguity to drive the design cycle and multitask in an fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
