Key Objectives
- Oversee and administer the finance team and all accounting functions.
- Play a key role in the executive leadership team, providing guidance, advice, trends analysis, and performance metrics on financial, accounting, and operational decisions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of organizational vision and operational strategy.
- Assist in the development of operational metrics and annual operating results.
- Integrate new business initiatives.
- In conjunction with the technology team, contribute to the design and operations of critical backend systems that enable effective operational management and financial reporting.
- Manage the financial discovery for partnerships, mergers or acquisitions that may arise.
- Responsible for reporting financial results.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and perform key finance and accounting functions for both US and Canadian operations, such as ongoing cash forecasting, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, monthly US sales tax filings, quarterly transfer pricing calculations, quarterly re-forecasting, annual budget, and annual tax compliance filings.
- Manage, direct, and organize the financial team.
- Identify and improve current business and system financial processes.
- Develop criteria metrics for new product development, pricing strategy, profit margins, marginal costs, and rates of return.
- Develop and monitor performance measurements and forecasting for existing and new businesses.
- Lead the business valuation analysis for new acquisitions and integrate new businesses, including developing performance metrics, business processes and reporting structures.
- In conjunction with executive teams review and develop corporate policies, government funding opportunities, operating procedures, contract management and corporate functions including insurance, property management and cash management.
- Work closely with HR to develop workforce management and succession planning for accounting and finance roles and to create a compensation strategy for the business overall.
- As a member of the executive leadership team, be accountable for the achievement of corporate goals and priorities.
- Oversee employee compensation information including market analysis, industry practices, benefits analysis, and cost controls.
- Administer the US payroll and benefits, including commissions and bonus programs.
- Ensure banking and credit card accounts for both the US and Canada are up to date and money transfers are timely.
- Work with the auditors annually as required.

Required Experience:
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of financial experience including previous leadership roles in a high growth scalable business.
- CPA or CPA equivalent designation is required.
- Strong economics background or degree preferred.
- Robust understanding of International Financial Reporting Standard and US GAAP.
- Clear knowledge of US sales tax, corporation income tax, and transfer pricing between the US and Canada is required.
- Prior experience with efficient business processes, systems implementation, and a proven track record in change management.
- Relevant experience in scaling businesses for growth.
- Effective experience with legal contracts and compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as solid interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and analytic tools (power BI, Tableau).
- Located in Austin, TX.
