Sr. Workday Financials Functional Analyst
Vaco is conducting a confidential search for a Senior Workday Financials Functional Analyst on behalf of a leading organization in the healthcare services industry. This role is integral to providing expert support and guidance to internal teams on Workday Financials.
Compensation/Work Type/Arrangement:
- Location: Must be within relative driving distance of the Greater Irvine Area, California, onsite visits to office location (approximately twice a month) will be needed for occasional meetings with key stakeholders and collaborative sessions.
- Direct Hire, Salary Range: $90,000-140,000, potential annual bonus (discretionary), PTO, 401K matching, and ample opportunities for professional growth.
- No c2c: Third-party candidates, 1099, Corp-2-Corp or any sub-vendor/consulting inquiries of any kind will not be considered.
- Unable to sponsor: Cannot sponsor now or in the future.
Role Overview
As a Sr. Workday Financials Functional Analyst, you will collaborate closely with various departments, including finance and IT, to gather business requirements and develop tailored Workday Financials solutions. The role is focused on working with business users and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate those into Workday Financials Solutions. Your expertise in Workday Financials will be critical in optimizing financial processes and ensuring the integrity of financial data. You will configure and maintain critical business process within the Workday Financials Modules providing functional expertise, business process management and system support.
Core Responsibilities
- Business Needs Assessment: Collaborate with various departments to identify and analyze business requirements, translating them into practical Workday Financials configurations and solutions.
- Reporting & Data Analysis: Craft tailored financial reports and dashboards, utilizing advanced reporting tools to deliver clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Workday Expertise: Serve as the primary resource for all Workday Financials-related inquiries, providing expert support and troubleshooting to ensure smooth system operation.
- System Configuration: Support finance and accounting teams in setting up and managing business processes, financial posting rules, and security protocols within Workday.
- Data Quality & Compliance: Safeguard the accuracy and consistency of financial data by performing regular audits, maintaining stringent controls, and generating comprehensive reports.
- Process Enhancement: Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes, ensuring they are scalable and sustainable.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of direct experience with Workday Financials, with a focus on system setup, process optimization, and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of Workday Financials modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management).
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes, including general ledger, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, alongside familiarity with Workday integration tools like EIBs, RaaS Reports, and the ability to work with technical teams on more complex integrations.

- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with both technical and business-oriented teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in configuring Workday security groups and managing integrations.
- Familiarity with additional financial systems or tools like Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Oracle Hyperion, or SQL.
