The Libraries physical spaces consist of the Langson Library, the Science Library, the Library Gateway Study Center, and the Grunigen Medical Library.
Under the direction of the Langson Library On-Site Circulation Manager, incumbent is responsible for all Langson Library Stacks operations including planning and/or overseeing shelving, shifting, shelf reading, building pickup, and general maintenance of the Stacks. Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating student assistants for Stacks and submitting biweekly timesheets. Develops and updates written procedures. works cooperatively with staff in the Library Facilities and Technical Services regarding safety and maintenance of the collection, coordinates gathering of in-house use statistics, and reports monthly Stacks statistics. Serves as backup for all Access and Operations units including the Science Library Check Out Desk, Multimedia Resources Center, and Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Service.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $28.99- $31.02 (Hourly).
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience working in an academic or public library or relevant education and training. Required
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Required
- Working knowledge of office productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office 365). Required
- Knowledge of library systems (e.g. Alma, Primo, OCLC, etc).). Required
- Skills to work independently, follow through on assignments, meet deadlines, be flexible, and satisfy workload priorities. Required
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with the public, supervisors and, co-workers. Required
- Skills to consult and work on projects which are interrelated within department units or other library departments in a timely manner. Required
- Ability to overseestudent assistants. Required
- Ability to interact diplomatically with a culturally diverse population of library users. Required
- Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions and distractions. Required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues and patron information. Required
- Ability to handle emergency situations in a professional manner following the Library’s emergency and security procedures. Required
- Skills and knowledge of bibliographic searching techniques. Required
- Skills in establishing and maintaining accurate records and files. Required
- Ability to apply and adhere to library policies and explain them to patrons. Required
- Demonstrated record of punctuality and regular work attendance. Required
- Working knowledge of circulation systems. Required
- Ability to translate stack growth formulas, create timetables and reliable estimates of staffing and expenses for shifting materials. Required
- Strong organizational skills to manage projects and meet deadlines. Required
- Skills to prepare and monitor budgetary documents. Required
- Skills to perceive the need for and initiate procedural changes. Required
- Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively and to promote teamwork, diversity, equality, and inclusiveness within UCI Libraries and the campus. Required
Preferred:
- Demonstrated successful experience in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, evaluating, and disciplining student assistants. Preferred
- Working knowledge of University of California policies and procedures. Preferred
Special Conditions:
- Schedule is dependent on the Libraries’ building hours. Hours are subject to change whenever building hours change and during intersessions and summer sessions. Will be required to work extended hours during pre-finals and finals. May be scheduled to work on holidays in rotation with others. May be scheduled to work in the evenings or weekend during staff shortages as needed.
