We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant for our fast-paced finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive individual to contribute to the financial health and growth of our company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
· Working closely with project managers & construction accounting coordinator to ensure accurate construction draws are being submitted and paid in a timely manner. Assists with construction billing and submittal of draws to lending institutions.
· Complete daily cash reconciliations and assists with monitoring all cash activity and treasury management.
· Assist with month-end closing activities and audit requests, including:
o Records monthly journal entries
o Processes monthly account reconciliations
o Fixed asset tracking and depreciation
o Updates and ensures all working papers are correct and balance to the general ledgers
o Tracks all loan activity and records draw activity and interest
o Processes and reconciles intercompany transactions, ensuring all companies stay in balance
· Processes all fabrication & design billing and assists with collections of accounts to ensure timely payments.
· Assists Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist with AP and payroll processing. Serves as backup when needed.
· Work closely with Controller to record purchases, refinances, and sales of properties.
· Assist with reconciliation of Sales and Use tax per applicable states. If applicable, processing payments for these upon completion of review.
· Create ad-hoc reports and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
· 3+ years experience in corporate accounting
· Prior construction accounting experience preferred
· Prior experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Online programs strongly preferred
· Requires strong Microsoft Excel skills
