Staff Accountant/Accounts Receivable - Absolute Group

About the Job
Absolute Group is looking for a staff accountant to join our team in our Granger office. This position is responsible for managing, organizing and planning the day-to-day activities in the accounting department. Including but not limited to, receiving and applying checks, managing accounts receivable, recording entries and reconciling books with the accounting management software.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare daily cash entries
- LOC Daily
- Create invoices in Xero when customers desire to pay with credit card
- Process entries for SWPPP and Xero deposits
- Approve credit card transactions and enter into Foundation
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare data entry to accounts as needed
- Process month end recurring entries.
- Receiving checks
- Applying checks to invoices
- Apply quantities with checks received
- Create new estimates as necessary
- Communicate with project managers on accounts receivable collections
- Manage accounts receivable
- Sign lien waivers
Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience of 2-5 years accounting experience preferred
- Strong math skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Detail oriented
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle information confidentially
- Familiarity with computers, emailing and able to work with Microsoft applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel
- Understanding of all accounting sequencing/critical timeline scheduling
