Staff Accountant: Starting Salary Range: $55,536 - $62,088

Job Summary:
Prepare financial statements and assist in preparation of budgets. Prepare financial analyses and reports. Perform reconciliation of accounts and internal audits. Prepare billing of specific grants. Assist other Accounting Services department members as needed.

Education/Experience/License/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required. However, equivalent combination of education and appropriate experience will be considered.
- Three years of experience in the accounting field required.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems preferred.
- Experience in health care setting desirable.
Required Travel:
Infrequent travel may include limited local travel.

2. Ability to operate a computer and use various software programs. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred.

4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people inside and outside the center.
6. Ability to reason mathematically and to have analytical and problem solving skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
2. Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
3. Prepares monthly financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
4. Assist in the assessment and interpretation of monthly financial reports.
5. Assist other managers in analyzing their cost center expense reports.
6. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial analyses and reports.
7. Responsible for monthly billing of grants.
8. Conduct special studies and analyses.
9. Perform periodic internal audits.
10. Perform reconciliation of accounts.
11. Preparation of reports for internal and external users.
12. Assist in monitoring cash flow for the organization.
13. Assist in the coordination of year-end and other external audits.
14. Assist in training of new employees and participate in cross-training as directed by the Financial Controller.
15. Participate in department, Staff Development and General Staff meetings.
16. Reconcile bank statements and prepare month-end cash entry.
17. Responsible for prepaid expenses.
18. Responsible for city, state, and federal grants as assigned.
19. Responsible for monthly and annual in-house EIS Grant reporting.
20. Perform other related duties as assigned.
