Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a permanent role that requires 2 days in office at their site in Blytheville, AR.

Duties:

- Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices and payment requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our accounting software, including Ceridian and Workday, to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure that accounts payable transactions are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources department to ensure that new employee payroll is processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Utilize Paychex or other payroll management systems to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports, including the general ledger and accounts payable ledger.
- Perform data entry tasks as required, including entering vendor information, invoices, and payment requests.
- Ensure that all accounts payable transactions are in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Experience:

- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, general ledger accounting, or related accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including Ceridian and Workday.
- Experience with payroll management systems, such as Paychex.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
