Job Details
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Assist in all areas of the month-end close process including but not limited to posting journal entries, and perform monthly reconciliations in conjunction with improving and streamlining each process
- Conduct analysis and variance reporting and communicate financial results for decision making purposes
- Responsible, along with the team for the month-end closing process. This includes trend analysis and balance sheet account reconciliations. Additionally, creating reports which will aid management in identifying trends and patterns.
- Support all statutory reporting
- Assist or prepare financial reports
- Work with other departments to provide accounting guidance and work to streamline existing processes/ communication
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas
- Verify financial transactions and records.
- Excellent communicator able to build relationships with other departments to improve/automate processes
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory filings in a timely and accurate manner
- Communicate directly with State regulators regarding statutory matters
- Responsible for furnishing and developing financial reports/schedules as requested by Accounting Director and/or Controller
- Assist in special projects as needed including writing technical accounting memos and interpreting new accounting pronouncement

- Public Accounting Experience
Education:
- Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.
- CPA Certification preferred
