Position: Staff Accountant
Job Description:
The ideal Staff Accountant candidate will have experience in an Accountant role within a publicly held company. Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is strongly desired. The Staff Accountant will assist in the preparation of accurate financial reporting at various levels.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
+ Prepare weekly reporting for Operational and Sales groups
+ Assists in the preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries
+ Assists in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly closing processes for financial reporting
+ Fixed Asset Accounting – entering and retiring company owned assets in Fixed Asset sub-system
+ Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
+ Prepare financial and analytical schedules as assigned
+ Assist auditors with support during quarterly reviews and year-end audit
+ Assist the CFO and Controller with assigned projects
+ Assist Internal Audit with requests and documentation
+ Assists with budget planning and preparation
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting
+ CPA certification is desired
+ Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred
+ Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts and experience in their application
+ Highly organized, and has a strong attention to detail
+ Strong work ethic, high integrity
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Knowledge of reporting tools & other MIS tools
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

+ Interpersonal skills necessary to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
+ Strong organization, prioritization, project management and consulting skill set
+ General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400
