Staff Accountant - Lakeshirts

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This position is responsible for assisting the Controller with managing the month-end closing process, financial reporting, royalty/licensing reporting, and tax functions. In addition, this individual will assist the CFO in the budgeting process and other financial analysis projects.  This position will also oversee the Staff Accountant and their duties. This is a full time, salaried position

A Typical Day (job functions) | Record + Reconcile + Balance + Lead

• Assist with the management of the month-end close process
• Help prepare the monthly financial reporting package
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Meet financial accounting objectives through the budgeting process
• Utilize technology to improve efficiencies on special projects
• Work with the CFO on financial analysis projects
• Oversight of Staff Accountant, managing licenses and royalties for colleges, bowls, NCAA, etc; including the following:
  • Tracking royalty rates, licensing contracts, customer distribution channels, retailer codes, and contract types
  • Compliance with royalty requirements for new schools and sales streams
  • Review royalty reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting and ensure timely payment
  • Manage audits from licensing agents
  • Manage and complete RFPs
  • Internal and external communication pertaining to royalty related topics
  • Oversight of prepaid and guaranteed royalties, along with related financial analysis

Skills (qualifications) | Must Love Spreadsheets. Seriously.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. CPA preferred, but not required
• 4+ years' experience in the Accounting field
• Leadership experience preferred
• Excel experience is a must
• Data mining experience preferred
• Strong mindset of promoting process improvement, problem solving, attention to detail, multi-tasking
• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment
• Must be self-directed & self-motivated
• Must love numbers. And dogs.
• Knowledge of MS Office products: Excel, Word, etc.
