Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant in the Saratoga area for a full-time role offering great benefits! You'll independently manage various accounting tasks and keep the general ledger in check. If you're organized and enthusiastic, this is your chance to thrive.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant will include:
- Aid in accounting for Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, Leases, and other relevant areas as needed.
- Create and post journal entries for various accounts such as Pension, Loan (sales), dealer reserves, and expense accruals.
- Conduct and review reconciliations for assigned accounts, including those mentioned and others.
- Help verify and code invoices and expense vouchers to ensure accurate input.
- Assist the Accounting Operations Manager in developing and improving internal procedures.
- Support departmental training efforts and offer guidance to co-workers and customers as appropriate.
- Provide backup for the Accounting Representative's responsibilities as needed.
- Prepare and post journal entries as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Staff Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equal experience
- 6 years of accounting or related experience
- Capable of analyzing complex data and delivering clear, accurate conclusions to explain variances.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and database functions, as well as expertise in Word and mainframe general ledger applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and self-motivated individual
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $58,500 to $65,000
