Staff Accountant at Sparks Group

Sparks Group has partnered with a government contractor seeking a Staff Accountant. As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with daily duties to include invoicing journal entries, reconciliation, month end close, etc.  The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related and up to 2 years of previous accounting experience and is eager to learn and grow their accounting career.  If you’re ready for the next step in your accounting career, apply now!

• Process purchase requisitions, invoices, and journal entries, ensuring proper coding and reviewing for accuracy. Reconcile bank statements monthly and handle complex account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review foreign exchange transactions and provide support for group budgets and monthly reporting.
• Prepare well-organized accounting records for efficient month-end close and successful audits.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve discrepancies and maximize cash flow.
• Significantly contribute to the annual audit by preparing schedules, footnotes, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of foundational accounting experience.
• Experience with MS Office with strong Excel skills.
