Under the direction of the Accounting Manager and Controller, is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with organizational procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), analysis of income statement and balance sheet activity, and performing other Finance and Accounting projects.

The compensation range for the role is $58,461-$73,076 salaried. 

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.  The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.  When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. 

Minimum Experience: Requires one to five years of related accounting experience including general ledger analysis.  Experienced in Excel and other Microsoft PC applications.  Experience in a health care environment desirable but not required. Staff Accountant I will perform essential job functions at the direction of the accounting manager with a high level of supervision and review.

May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
