Status: Non-exempt
Working Conditions: This position requires working in a typical office setting with daily use of the Financial Edge Accounting system, Paylocity payroll system and other software, specifically Microsoft Office products. There is occasional need to visit Agency locations and driving on behalf of the Finance department. This position does occasionally require overtime to meet deadlines but is typically an 8-hour day.
Position Summary: Provides skilled accounting services with minimal supervision to the Agency in order to maintain accurate and timely accounting records and other financial information. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Enters payroll information and maintains payroll files. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure that new hires and terminations are processed accurately in the payroll system.
- Enters adjustments to employee pay for bonuses, commissions or other additions as directed by Human Resources. Updates payroll information for any garnishments or other mandatory deductions.
- Reviews timecards for non-exempt employees for reasonableness and addresses any questions/concerns with supervisors.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies.
- Prepares reports to include summaries of earnings, deductions and leave for review by Accounting Manager and Director. After review and approval by Director submits payroll to Paylocity for processing according to established schedule.
- Upon receipt, reviews invoices for proper coding and approval. Enters vendor invoices into accounting system for payment.
- Reviews employee expense reports for accuracy, approval and adherence to company policy. Enters expense reports into accounting system for payment.
- Submits pre-check reports for review, upon authorization initiates payment of approved invoices.
- Maintains electronic files for supporting documentation. Communicates with vendors and with Agency staff to resolve billing or payment issues.
Must hold a valid driver’s license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record. Must be willing to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and childcare/elder care disqualification list screenings as conducted by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services utilizing the Family Care Safety Registry. As requested, must submit fingerprints for review by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease. Must be American Red Cross first aid and CPR certified at all times.
