About the Job
Torden is seeking qualified professional payroll specialist to support payroll operations in our New Bedford office which supports our employees in multiple locations throughout the US and overseas locations. This is a full-time position with corporate benefits.
The best candidate is a detail-oriented, hardworking, and reliable who is able to multi-task. The payroll specialist is responsible for the administration of all aspects of Torden's timekeeping and payroll system, as well as providing administrative support to the Accounting and Human Resources departments. Duties include:
Payroll
- Collect and audit timesheets to identify discrepancies.
- Collect and process employee expense reimbursements
- Submit Biweekly payroll
- Maintain Labor Distribution Reporting
- Develop Payroll General Ledger Journal Entries
- Generate Accurals
- Review Payroll Taxes (create schedule if there is an outstanding balance)
- Reconcile PTO Balance Sheet Account Schedule
- Record Draws, Accruals reversals, PTO
- Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests
Employee Insurance
- Create employee insurance deductions
- Prepare Prepaid insurance schedule for month end
- Record insurance expense (Health, Dental, Vision, Life)
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
- Experience with payroll processing
- Basic understanding of payroll and payroll tax law
- Computer knowledge with proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and good time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- High school degree or equivalent
Desired Experience:
- Defense contracting experience
- Familiar with Paycheck and/or Deltek
