Soaren Management is adding a Staff Accountant to our team in Scottsdale, AZ. We are a Fintech start-up that is stable, profitable, and rapidly growing. As a Staff Accountant you will be preparing General Ledger reconciliations, booking and uploading daily and weekly banking activity, and preparing journal entries to facilitate the monthly financial close.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger and standalone system software
- Upload bank and loan activity (obtained from standalone system software) to the General Ledger
- Reconcile and refund (as needed) customer payments made via manual check
- Prepare and analyze weekly/monthly reports and prepare corresponding journal entries for multiple loan portfolios and subsidiaries
- Provide assistance and support during the month end financial close
- Reconcile payment processor reports with the loan management system and bank activity
- Interact with various departments troubleshooting issues and providing timely solutions
- Assist with annual third party audits providing detailed analyses and various levels of audit support
- Provide support with various payment processing duties
- Learn other key accounting duties to offer backup support within the Accounting Department
- Constantly provide suggestions to improve transactional flow and increase efficiencies
- Provide assistance with ad hoc departmental projects
- Support Accounts Payable and aid in Vendor support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum two years of Accounting or Finance experience working with reconciliations and within a General Ledger accounting environment
- Experience in a NetSuite or ERP environment a plus
- Analytical skills to evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various formats
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including proficiency in Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
- Excellent written and oral communication skills a must
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Comfortable working within a Team environment
- Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
