JOB SUMMARY |
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the activities of the overall general accounting function. Will oversee, implement, and maintain accounting systems, procedures, and policies. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting and ensures that proper information is maintained.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors or discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly close processes, including preparation of monthly journal entries.
- Processes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Assist with biweekly check runs.
- Involved in the preparation and processing of the monthly Accounts Receivable and billing
- Assist with monthly financial reporting preparation
- Assist with external audits and exams
- Assist with implementing and maintaining accounting policies and internal financial controls
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment, and meet strict deadlines
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills |
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a Bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in Accounting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Good problem-solving and time-management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Previous experience with Sage 100 preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills expected

Salary Range: $45,000-$65,000
