SCOPE OF ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant will provide timely and accurate oversight of cash processing and general ledger transactions. The Staff Accountant will oversee several Accounting processes including cash analysis, banking and month end closing transactions in Signature Health’s accounting system.
HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED:
- Actively record daily bank transactions performing monthly reconciliations of all investment and operating bank accounts.
- Monitor and control banking transactions performed at the office site locations, including reconciliation of weekly bank deposits, petty cash reconciliations and general use of cash.
- Monitor, record and analyze credit card spending for the entire agency across multiple credit cards and sites.
- Perform reconciliation of certain balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis in accordance with month end close.
- Complete and submit timely annual business financial and insurance surveys/reports.
- Track and create accurate monthly grant billings and compliance reporting.
- Perform backfill duties to the Specialist, Accounts Payable and purchasing.
- Assist with software integrations.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s Degree required, with focus on business, finance, or accounting.
- 2+ years’ experience of accounting or bookkeeping required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
- While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
- Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
- Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
- Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
- Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
- Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
- Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
