About the Job
- 3+ years of Kroger accounting experience or extensive accounting knowledge
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information

- Bachelor's Degree accounting or finance
- Any audit experience
- Any shared service center experience- Maintain all balance sheet accounts (i.e., activation, assignment, descriptions, etc.)
- Serve as liaison for company and external audit teams, making sure discussions on issues include the appropriate department manager, senior manager, controller and associate
- Analyze balance sheets and profit and loss account flux to validate variances
- Assist senior tax manager with special projects and inquiries from auditors/divisions/vendors
- Maintain confidentiality of conversations and documents
- Assist in establishing eCommerce structure, procedures and tax compliance
- Assist in the conversion of system modernization
- Support managers on governmental tax audits
- Support tax return compliance such as preparation, review and payment/return verification
- Audit and/or coordinate with manager on financial audits of all accounts timely
- Follow-up/resolve out of balance accounts, reconciling items, un-reconciled accounts, aging of unbilled accounts; communicate findings to managers
- Conduct training on account balancing for all levels and conduct accounting orientation for new hires
- Assist in establishing account process or reconciliation for new programs or new ledger accounts
- Verify Sarbanes Oxley narratives are updated and spreadsheet reviews are updated
- Travel to divisions, RASC, government offices in order to assist on tax audits and meet with co-workers
