This position is located onsite in Harrisonburg, at the Camp Horizons location. We are nestled on 350+ beautiful acres in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
We are looking for a sharp Staff Accountant / Payroll Administrator, with a degree in Accounting/Finance & must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant / Payroll Administrator will perform accounting duties & payroll processing to support both the Finance & HR departments. This position will perform general accounting duties in between payroll cycles including but not limited to budgeting, reporting, financial analysis and posting to the General Ledger. They will assist the Director of Finance and other team members in all levels of accounting & payroll tasks to provide the best customer service to the employees and management. They will ensure payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for salaried, hourly and daily rate employees. They will also comply with all state and federal regulations as it pertains to timekeeping, tax payments, and any garnishments or levies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing financial records
- Ensuring all company finances comply with GAAP requirements
- Keeping ledgers neat and organized
- Assisting with financial reporting and analysis projects
- Accurate and timely processing of both bi-weekly & semi-monthly payroll cycles for all business units.
- Independently reviewing timecards, computing & reconciling wages, overtime, and other types of pay with accuracy and compliance.
- Assisting in the maintenance of employee & payroll records including mapping to the General Ledger and PTO reconciliation.
- Posting payroll to the general ledger by ensuring all costs are mapped to the correct general ledger accounts and departments.
- Maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, precision, discretion, and confidentiality.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience processing payroll
- Experience working with NetSuite and ADP preferred
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel in particular.
- Must be respectful, honest, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
