Schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
Rate of Pay: $30 - $36/hr
Location: Portsmouth, NH - WSL is located steps from Portsmouth's Market Square and Prescott Park, behind the Strawbery Banke Museum

Job Description: As the Staff Accountant of WSL, your primary job functions will be to review, support and prepare all accounting activities and/or reports to the Director of Finance.
Job Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Handle general ledger reconciliations, manage accounts receivable and payable, and oversee petty cash and credit card audits.

Accounting Support: Research and code transactions, prepare schedules for audits, assist with financial issues, and support the CFO with accounting projects.

Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely completion of annual 1099 forms and maintain accurate financial records.

Communication: Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to receivables and payables, and foster positive relationships with staff and families.

Confidentiality and Collaboration: Maintain confidentiality of financial information and collaborate effectively with the team to support organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting
- Proficiency in computer operations, including MS Office suite, and general ledger operations
- Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
