ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for fiscal coordination of one or more programs, including understanding of project grants and contracts within assigned program.
- Prepare month end labor and fringe distribution journal entries, other cost allocations and revenue recognition entries.
- Maintain annual budgets for each program assigned, including individual grant/contract budgets. Responsible for the preparation of budget versus actual analyses and interfacing with program management to ensure proper allocation of costs and maximization of budgets. Responsible for maintaining current budget information in accounting system.
- Manage billing and reporting for each program assigned, including billing each grant /contract, tracking related accounts receivable and cash receipts and preparing required funder reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) as required.
- Primary responsibility for one or more accounting functions within the fiscal department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, daily cash reporting and payroll allocation, and related monthly reconciliations as required.
- Provide back-up to other Accountant(s) and Payroll Manager, including cross-training on other department functions.
- Prepare work papers for annual agency-wide audit and provide support to CFO for completion of audit. Provide fiscal support for other program monitoring visits and reviews.
- Work with the Fiscal department staff to develop and implement department procedures and policies.
- Maintain inventory listing and physical identification of assets related to assigned programs and administration.
- Support fundraising efforts including tracking and recording donations.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the CFO to provide support and services to meet the agency's fiscal goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting preferred. Associate's Degree in a business field, plus 7 years direct experience in an accounting department may substitute for Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum three years previous experience in similar or related work
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with extensive knowledge of excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with Comprehensive accounting systems, such as Blackbaud, Sage or Dynamics.
