Staff Accountant at KBW Financial

A well-known consumer packaged goods company located in Salem, NH is active in their search for a Staff Accountant. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in the monthly financial close process, contribute to the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations, and support the annual audit and tax preparation. You will also take on various ad-hoc tasks as needed, ensuring the financial health and accuracy of the company’s records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly Financial Close: Prepare and post monthly journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts with accuracy and efficiency.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in the month-end close process by compiling and analyzing financial data to ensure timely reporting.
• Audit and Tax Support: Provide comprehensive support during year-end audits and tax preparations, including gathering and organizing necessary documentation.
• Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure strict adherence to company internal controls, including the documentation and testing of control procedures.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial data and reporting.
• Special Projects and Reporting: Assist in special projects, ad hoc reporting, and strategic analysis to support business needs.
• Additional Responsibilities: Take on other duties as assigned to support the finance team and overall business objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
• 1+ years of corporate accounting experience
• Proficiency in U.S. GAAP
• Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail
