Staff Accountant - Sonatech

POSITION SUMMARY: The staff accountant's primary responsibility is to maintain Sonatech's general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Prepare and enter monthly journal entries
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
• Book weekly payroll entries into the general ledger
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Compute monthly actual and forecasted overhead rates
• Assist in annual forecasting of budgets and overhead rates
• Assist in customer invoicing
• Help generate Sonatech's annual incurred cost submission
• Develop and maintain ad hoc and dashboard financial reports
• Review employee timecards and download into the payroll system each week
• Work closely with other members of the department and throughout the company
• May support Government Property Accounting and record keeping

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  
• Strong software skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• High level of attention to detail
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Strong independent work ethic
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience using QuickBooks and ERP systems
• Prior exposure to payroll
• Two plus years of prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience working in accounting for a defense contractor is a plus

Pay range: $31.25 - $38.50 Factors considered but not limited to when extending an offer include role, responsibilities, work experience, and education.
