Job Summary:
J Brothers Investments LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting functions, including preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights.
- Support the implementation of new accounting procedures and improvements in processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting regulations and standards.
- Prepare and file various tax returns and reports as required.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- General Accounting, 2 years required, 4+ preferred
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. Cost accounting a plus.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be self-directed and able to work independently, while also working well with others.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience working in a multi-entity business across multiple states
