Summary
Housing for Health (HFH) is a program office within Health Services Administration, a division under the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). This position will be supervising a data analyst(s) to provide support to the HFH Enriched Residential Care (ERC) program which provides assisted living for individuals experiencing homelessness who require care and supervision to be stably housed.
Essential Functions
- Management and Supervision
- Manages the daily activities of a team of between one or two data analysts.
- Ensures work is prioritized appropriately and that all deadlines are met.
- Supports individual team members in their professional goals.
- Steps in as needed to help analysts accomplish the functions below.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Provides regular reporting within specified deadlines.
- Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analysis tools.
- Regularly performs special projects and assignments, such as ad-hoc department reporting and program analyses.
- Rigorously documents processes and procedures used for all reporting and analyses.
- Tool Development and Maintenance
- Helps refine program management practices through the creation of new reporting and analytical tools.
- Helps to design, build, and maintain analytical support tools to be used within the Department of Health Services, by housing and service providers, and by other external stakeholders.
- Project Management:
- Convenes and facilitates discussions with stakeholders to design and implement tools and reports.
- Manages the design, development, implementation and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analysis tools.
- Has a lead role in designing and implementing new data related workflows.
- Program and Provider Support
- Provides regular analyses of the impact of changes in management practices and policies.
- Designs program reports, analyzes performance, and provides resulting analyses to stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate has experience working directly with a client-centric relational database and with managing individuals. They are an experienced data analyst who is comfortable with using various tools to analyze large datasets. They have taken the lead on projects where the best path forward is unclear. They are a seasoned and effective facilitator and mediator.
Education/Experience
Four or more years of highly complex administrative or supervising experience in the health, housing, social services or related sectors.
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
- Successful clearing through the Live Scan process with the County of Los Angeles.

Work Environment
Currently hybrid remote between a home office setting, in office work, and the potential for field work. Work is primarily remote with potential for a future transition to more time spent in an indoors temperature-controlled office setting.
