You will join a team where everyone shares a common interest in designing, running, and maintaining our high traffic
We have a mix of microservices and monolithic API applications (written in Python and Kotlin) while striving for simplicity and high development speed
The team’s mission is to ensure the smooth functioning of our core. YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTONTechnical Leadership: Staff Software Engineers lead complex projects, providing technical direction and ensuring that engineering teams meet project goals
They are involved in high-level decision-making regarding the technical strategy of the organization.Project Oversight: They oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they align with business objectives and technical standards
This includes evaluating existing processes for optimization and collaborating on prototype development.Mentorship: A significant part of their role involves mentoring junior engineers and providing sponsorship to help them advance in their careers
This includes sharing knowledge and best practices while fostering a supportive team environment.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Staff Software Engineers work closely with various teams, including product management and design, to ensure cohesive project execution
They must effectively communicate technical requirements and facilitate discussions among stakeholders.Quality Assurance: They are responsible for maintaining high standards in software development, including implementing quality control measures throughout the project's lifecycle

The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes
