POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Staff Development Coordinator is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, managing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility. The Staff Development Coordinator will work alongside the Director of Nursing with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times.In addition, you will function as a wound nurse. The primary purpose of the Wound Nurse's job is to once a week to complete wound rounds with contracted CRNP and maintain facility documentation via PCC. Confer with the Director of Nursing Services and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility. Implement and maintain established policies and procedures relative to skin care treatment. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
Education & Qualifications:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.
- Must be a Wound Care Certified Nurse.
- Must possess a current CPR certification.
- Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
- Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility leadership in the performance of duties.
- Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
- Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a hospital, nursing facility or other related healthcare facility, preferably in long term care.
