Job Description:
The Staff Development/Medical Records Manager. Serve as the facility expert on all issues related to medical records and the EMR system. Responsible for the overall training of healthcare team members including monitoring and coordinating education programs including state-required educational in-services working in tandem with the Corporate Director of Educational Services.
Duties include:
- Designs, plans and provides educational programs on all shifts for all healthcare team members in all departments.
- Works closely with the campus DON on educational topics needed.
- Participates in the team member evaluation process by providing attendance records as well as documented observations of team members' clinical performance.
- Provides facility orientation to all new team members and ongoing in-service education.
- Plans and provides a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs for healthcare team members.
- Ensures Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement.
- Actively participates in quality assurance and reports concerns to the Healthcare Administrator.
- Organizes, files and maintains medical records daily and upon discharge.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Indiana required and required by the facility and State.
- 1-3 years experience in a long-term care facility setting preferred.
- CPR Certification required.
Schedule:
Monday thru Friday
Some weekends or later hours
