What You’ll Do:
The Staff Hardware Electronics Design Engineer position will be a part of the R&D team focused on the next generation of robotic products for Telos Health changing the future of healthcare. The ideal candidate will have experience working in cross-functional teams, demonstrate expertise in electrical engineering, be able to work independently to resolve difficult technical problems, and have excellent communication skills to communicate broadly across engineering teams. You will be expected to design and develop Printed Circuit Board Assembly production test hardware, contribute to design control documentation including test protocol development, risk analysis, and implement electrical safety design and documentation that complies with regulatory requirements of the FDA, UL and TUV (specifically those related to IEC, EMC, CISPR, etc).

Salary Range: $173,000 to $182,000 annually

You will be expected to design and develop Printed Circuit Board Assembly production test hardware, contribute to design control documentation including test protocol development, risk analysis, and implement electrical safety design and documentation that complies with regulatory requirements of the FDA, UL and TUV (specifically those related to IEC, EMC, CISPR, etc).
- Design electronic circuit board and robotic subassembly test fixtures that test motion control and sensor circuit performance and reliability. This encompasses mixed-signal, analog, and digital and data acquisition circuit design and collaboration with firmware, mechanical and manufacturing engineers to realize complex electromechanical test fixtures.
- Coordinate EMI/EMC testing of product hardware and identify design improvements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, CISPR22, ISO for safety and EMC compliance in a regulated environment (UL, TUV, FDA).
- Identify and design product design improvements to enhance electronics reliability, testability, manufacturability and performance against regulatory standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement a product manufacturing and test plan that ensures hardware electronics quality and reliability.
- Facilitate board bring-up, test, and debug of newly designed printed circuit boards.
- Write electronic hardware design verification protocols and develop test vehicles for executing the protocols.
- Work closely with electronic hardware suppliers to ensure manufacturing and test procedures are set up, qualified and executed to meet company and regulatory standards
- Communicate status, plans to the multi-functional engineering and program management team, with excellence.
What You’ll Bring:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline and 8 years of related experience; or MS in Engineering with 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 8 plus years of electronic circuit design experience.
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting of sophisticated systems to include component level electronic issues, EMI/EMC/ESD mitigation, and noise identificantion and suppression.
- Demonstrated experience of design, test and solving for medical safety and IEC EMC standards, such as IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, IEC61000-4-6 or equivalent, for complex medical systems.
- Expertise in the design of DC motor control circuits, PID control loops, and analysis of motor and motor driver performance.
- Proven experience designing and developing complex electrical systems from feasibility through to production, from board to system level.
- Proven experience in board level printed circuit board design, including schematic design, PCB layout in both analog/mixed signal/power electronic and digital domains.
- Strong proficiency with lab test equipment including multi meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
- Proficient in Altium Designer or an equivalent schematic capture and PCB layout tool.
- Proficiency in code development in Python, C, C.
