What you'll do:
- Assume the role as the local expert on acoustical and air flow measurements.
- Provide local management with technical assessment of engineering skills and performance levels.
- Provide on-going support and guidance on technical issues, test procedures, and standards interpretations.
- Mentor less senior engineers
- Design new test fixtures and report shells
- Support accreditations activities such as audit follow-up and corrective actions. Investigate technical complaints. Audit and qualify sites for special Intertek programs.
- Handle calibration issues
- Research new standards, technologies, and trends in standards.
- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test)
- Validate the project scope, sample applicability, and assist sales team with test plans/quoting.
- Work with external client engineering teams on project scope
- Set up and operate / observe EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
- Set up and operate standard test equipment.
- Analyze, report, and review the collected data from the EUT.
- Meet project completion deadlines.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor or Master's of Science degree in Acoustical Engineering
- 8+ years' experience in acoustical/sound testing or design.
- Previous technical project management experience
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgements independently within established parameters.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to travel 15% - Valid unrestricted driver's license and reliable driving record required.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

The base wage or salary range for this position is $90K - $130K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
