Expected salary range of $68,400 to $76,000 ($32.88 – $36.54 per hour), varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes commission and 401(k).

LOCATION

This role is base in our Nashville, TN plant. Working hours for the role are Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The responsibility of the staff welder is to provide mechanical support in the energy generating facility as well as the distribution system. This individual will be required to perform welding tasks on systems associated with chilled water and steam production, and also provide support in mechanical maintenance throughout the district energy system

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform predictive/preventive maintenance and repair activities on facility equipment such a piping systems and joints, chillers, boilers, and associated equipment. 30%
• Welding, Cutting, threading, and joining piping and other steam and chilled water system devices. 30%
• Fabrication of required devices (ladders, piping assemblies) 20%
• Assist contractors and other maintenance staff with mechanical installations and repair as needed. 10%
• Work directly with the operations manager to identify and plan maintenance activities. 10%

POSITION SCOPE

This role reports to the District Energy System Operations Manager and will perform mechanical and welding functions that include maintenance, repair, and replacement of existing devices and systems.

POSTION REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years’ experience in a welding environment.
• Ability to perform various forms of welding in maintenance, fabrication, and repair using gas and electric welding equipment.
• Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and repairing/replacing equipment accordingly.
• Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Able to communicate status of equipment and required repairs to operations or plant manager.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience as a pipefitter.
• Experience fabricating equipment in a variety of metal types (steel, aluminum) per engineering drawings.
• Chiller and Boiler Plant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Welding Certifications
