We're seeking a Standard Work Author to join our client, an industry-leading pool equipment supplier, located in Clemmons, NC! This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity that offers a pay rate of $25.00 per hour, and has a 1st shift schedule working anywhere between the hours of 6:00am-5:00pm. The Standard Work Author would be responsible for supporting and advancing safe lean manufacturing practices. Duties will include developing, documenting, and maintaining standardized work instructions, procedures, and processes, analyzing existing workflows, and collaborating with departments to gather information and best practices. Ideal candidates for this role should previous experience in a similar role, have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to gather and interpret data. Responsibilities:
- Document safe work practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-kept workspace that aligns with our 5S standards
- Admin areas, Standard work database, etc
- Understand, apply, & educate others on the importance of PPE & safe work practices
- Collaborate with necessary individual and departments to author standard work
- Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly, Injection Molding, Blow Molding, etc
- Maintain the roles Key Performance Indicators such as standard work metrics
- Understand, apply, & educate others on the importance of timely & detailed work processes
- Film and photograph work cell layouts and work processes
- Perform audits of work cells & standard work for immediate improvements & future kaizen efforts
- Promote a facility culture that emphasizes a high level of 5S understanding & organization.
- Understand, apply, & educate others on the importance of stocking levels & 5S in the KPO Shop
- Promote safety standards & lean methodologies in the facility & organization
- Support & backfill the responsibilities of KPO team members as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of working experience
- Associate degree in Science preferred
- Continuous Improvement or Lean manufacturing experience preferred
- Must possess basic computer skills to utilize email, calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
- Must possess the ability to gather and interpret data
- Must possess strong mathematical skills to perform time studies and work cell rebalancing.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in front of groups at all levels of the organization.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
